PC to TV with HDMI, 2nd monitor with vga but no audio

hi, i have my pc hooked up to my hdtv through hdmi, i also have a second 27' monitor as my second monitor. this hp monitor has built in speakers, and im wondering how and if it is possible to get the monitor to play sound from the pc, ive hooking a speaker cable to the monitor into the sound card itself, and a test confirms that sound plays from the monitor but with hdmi set up as default device i cant seem to be able to get the audio from my pc to play in the monitors speakers as well as on my tv
