Hi:

I'd like to get a good gaming card for my Asrock Z68 Pro3-M motherboard. The Radeon HD 7850 1GB is PCI-E 3.0 so I don't know if the card is worthy for the PCI-E 2.0 slot in the mobo. This card is about $170 so it's not cheap by any means. The monitor resolution is 1680x1050.

My system specs:
Motherboard Asrock Z68 Pro3-M
Intel core i5 3450 3.1GHz Sandy Bridge
8GB RAM
PSU 700W 3GO Energy PS700SX
MONITOR: 1680 x 1050 LG FLATRON M228WDP

What card would you advice for this system?

Yes. You should be able to max out any game at that resolution. It really doesn't matter PCI-E 3.0 vs 2.0 right now. No card can really saturate the 2.0 right now.

Hell yes!!! The difference in performance is minute, like 0.02%.

PCI-E 2.0 is only bottleneck for gtx 690 and hd 7990.

I agree. There isn't much performance difference between 3.0 and 2.0 yet...
