Front panel LEDs turn on, then back off

I just finished a desktop I've been working on for a few hours. Everything was working to my knowledge, so I opened the disc drive when it asked for boot media, it opened when I pressed the button, the green light is on, then I close it with the button, green light still on, then the green light flickers out, and the red light for my power button also turns off. Please, I am extremely depressed right now, this was something I've been waiting for, $700 and I've put so much time into it. I really need help, I don't know what to do.
