  1. See the Tom's GPU hierarchy chart: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html
The 7970 is the best card there.
That's a pretty significant budget range you have. What are you willing to spend, and what are your other specs?

Yep, well if i have the money, i sure buy the best for the money.

I have thought of this set..
    Asrock extreme4 z77
    I5 3570k (oc if needed)
    Noctua nh-d14 or nh-u9b
Graphics card.. Mainly on 670 or 7970
    Samsung spinpoint 1tb
    Samsung 830 128gb ssd
    Corsair vengance 8gb lowprofile RAM
    Asus drw dvd reader
    Antec hcg-m 620w
Fractal define R4 OR bitfenix ghost
    Windows 7
  3. That looks quite good. The 670 and 7970 are both good choices. I don't really know how to help you decide. There will be people on each side.
Get a cheaper heatsink. A Hyper 212 EVO would be good enough.
  4. You should really post the resolution you plan to be playing at.
  5. I voted for the Radeon 7970 since the GTX 680 was not listed.

Monitor meaning only one? well unless you are planning to get a 2560x1600 (and even then it probably won't matter) the memory bandwidth and vram amount of the 670 won't be an issue. But when you get into the 5760x1080 + resolution is when bandwidth and vram can and will come into play on some games.

For a single 1080p or 1200p monitor I would go with the 670, anything higher get a 7970 or 7970 crossfire.
