Best Gaming Setup For A AMD FX-8350 CPU

I'm looking into building a future proof gaming rig for $699 or less; hence the eight-core due to it's high performance to value ratio.

AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop Processor

A dual GPU setup is preferred.

Also what would be the best 120Hertz+ monitor to use?

  1. For $700 you can't get a computer with a dual GPU setup with a 120 hertz+ monitor.
  2. You can't get a 120Hz monitor in that budget.

This is the best I can do for $700 with a monitor:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($117.99 @ NCIX US)
    Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($74.99 @ Newegg)
    Memory: Crucial Ballistix 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($52.00 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($53.98 @ Outlet PC)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card ($194.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($24.99 @ Newegg)
    Power Supply: XFX 550W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($54.99 @ NCIX US)
    Monitor: Asus VE247H 23.6" Monitor ($129.99 @ Newegg)
    Total: $703.92
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Replace the hdd to a 1tb barracuda and its perfect +9001
  4. This sounds pretty good but I was wondering if the OP was really married to that $699 price tag. I am building a rig right now and so far I have:

    AMD FX 8350 ($195)
    Mobo: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 ($99)
    Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8gb (2x4gb) - ($65)
    Storage Seagate Barracuda 2tb 3.5" 7200rpm (Amazon) $90
Video Card: MSI Twin Frozr 7950 3GB (Amazon) $260
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ($59)
    Power Supply: Rosewill 850w ($95)
    Total: $864

Save up for a monitor!! In the meantime hook it up to your HD tv!!
