I'm looking into building a future proof gaming rig for $699 or less; hence the eight-core due to it's high performance to value ratio.

A dual GPU setup is preferred.

Also what would be the best 120Hertz+ monitor to use?

Check this out http://pcpartpicker.com/p/28R9b its missing a cases optical drive and a hdd but if you have another computer you can get the pieces from it. it also has daul x16 support for gpu and some extra goodies on the mother board
