Hello everybody I need some help.
When I play Battlefield 3 on medium settings with my GTX 560 2Gb by EVGA at stock clock speed EVGA precision X says my temp goes to around 85-86°C. But when I close Battlefield 3 it instantly drops to 68°C then another instant drop to 55°C then slowly decreases when it hits 46°C to 36°C. I'm not sure if this is normal because that seems weird to me so I would really like an answer.

When the card is idle, it can drop its frequency and voltage this reduces heat.

It happens so fast because the cards heatsink is VERY good at taking heat and transferring it into the air.

So if a heatsink can dissipate lets say 160 watts then it suddenly only has to take 10-20, that heat gets transferred to the air very fast.

CPU's do the same thing when you run Prime95 then stop it(100 watts down to 10 on many cpu's).

The reason the heat dissipation slows down at the end is because the fan slows down with the lower temperatures.
