How to get norton off my pc

Hello,
norton renewed my antivirus without my authorization, & now my pc is running barely, really bad & slow. I would like them to fix it, but after reading about this same problem online & that they have crashed peoples pc's, I'm now afraid for them to touch my pc.
So how do I get them completly out of my system & should i go to avast.com?

click on start button on the bottom left corner
go to control panel
add/ remove programs
find the program
double click on it
follow the on screen instructions

Download the Norton Removal Tool. Yea, it sucks so bad they made a tool to pry it out.
