Intel SSD 520 120gb
Asus Arctic Square Cooler
Asus P5W DH DELUXE ( Latest BIOS 3002 ver. )
Asus 8800GTS 320 MB
LC Power 6600 (600 W)

  1. I don't think you will get the performance you are looking for out of 2 8800GTSs in SLI. They are old cards and won't perform well in today's games. That motherboard will not run SLI anyway. Yes the new chipsets do, but not that board. I would sell your card and buy a newer one to be honest.
  2. OK, and what do you suggest as new GPU, since i only need to run WOW and Dota 2 ...
  3. I would suggest the HD 7770. That will fit your system nicely and its pretty affordable. Have you overclocked your system? I suggest you do if you haven't, that will give you some more fps in games and let the gpu breathe a little better. There are lots of articles on the web for clocking that cpu as it was very popular in its day.
  4. Well yeah i tryed and got to 2.88ghz but with old RAM which was 400mhz instead 800. Will try again, i hope i reach 3.0ghz !!! Prob is the MB has it's tricks ... now i just updated BIOS to latest 3002 ver. Will see what can i do ...

Anyways for GPU i was thinking MSI6870 HAWK but its very hard to get here in sLOVEnia =)
  5. if your ram showed 400 it's running normally. 2.88 might be all you will get with that processor. be happy with it. personally I would make the ram faster and leave the processor "stock".
  6. Front Side Bus 1066/ 800 MHz

    Memory Dual channel memory architecture
    4 x 240-pin DIMM sockets support max. 8GB DDR2 800/ 667/ 533 ECC and non-ECC memory
Intel MPT (Intel Memory Pipeline Technology)
    ASUS Hyper Path3

What can i do to make it even faster ?
  7. And btw, i've got Asus Arctit Square cooler and my CPU core temp is from 51-56' C on stock ... ain't that a bit high ?
  8. google overclocking the q6600. some of what you find will bring you back to this site probably.

I wouldn't expect too much more from what you have and monetarily and performance wise not worth an "upgrade".
