6950 only shows as standard VGA adapater

I have 2 6950 in crossfire and it was all working fine until I kept getting a driver crash. I wiped the drivers and went to reinstall but I just keep getting errors and the two cards remain as standard VGA in device manager. Any help would be great.

Ah, multi gpu problems...that's why I don't use them anymore and don't recommend them either. Sounds to me like its using the Windows VGA driver and not AMD catalyst. Download the newest Beta and install that. If you have to remove one card to get the drivers to install, do that, then put it back in and select Crossfire.

urg didn't work just installs VGA driver still, my brain.

Go to device manager and uninstall the VGA driver. Then reboot, and go back to Device Manager and right click on the question mark and select update driver. Browse to the AMD catalyst driver installation folder and install that.
