Quick question

I apologize if this question sounds rather dumb lol. I recently got a slightly better power supply for my desktop and a new graphic card and according to the pc's specs I can only use the on-board or external at a time. But I was wondering if I use my external card, does this mean my on-board card will still be running and consuming WATS from the power supply?

The integrated graphics will not be used.
It wouldn't even matter anyways for it would consume 10w tops under load if it was.
