Hi people, i basically had major performance problems with my 2x GTX 680 sli which i purchased from Amazon last week,

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/377000-15-performance-problem

i thought it might be the cards, so i ordered a Asus GTX 690, which was delivered today but guess what i now have the same problem with this card, and i have done a fresh install using a brand new HDD with Vista Ultimate 64bit.

If anyone can help i will be most grateful.

I strongly suggest you overclock your CPU to 4.0Ghz, a decent cooler like the NH-D14 or the new H100i should be sufficient. Not all games utilize multi gpu configurations, but when they do you should be able to max out settings and still have above 80+ fps. BF3 for example @ 1080p should be hitting 90+ fps most of the time on your system again your CPU may be the hindrance. What are the GPU usages during gameplay?

in bf3 his cpu is definitely holding him back. an overclock would help a lot.

In bf3 with my old gtx 590 I was getting around 80-90 fps, I have just overclocked my CPU to 4.0 and if anything it only gave me only an extra 5-8 frames. If I purchased the rampage extreme iv and a 2011 extreme CPU will it be ok then, would I notice much of a difference.

just take a step back and stop trying to throw money at this problem. no buying the most expensive cpu and motherboard you can get will not solve the problem any more then a 3770k cpu and 125 dollar motherboard. it sounds like to me that you are getting to your cpus limit of how much it can output.

try this. lower your graphics settings in bf3 to low and note the fps. if they are not much higher then your cpu is holding you back.

Yes but it must be more than the CPU, on benchmarks on other websites they are showing double if not triple the fps than what I am getting.

your fps seem like where they are supposed to be in bf3.
