Dlink switch loses Port connectivity

Hello Everybody,
I have Cyber cafe, And i'm having a problem with My 24 port Dlink "DES 1024d" switch, which has been misbehaving for few months, it looses connectivity to a pc sometimes.....when i reboot the pc, then it works again, But it keep losing connectivity to the other pc's, not at the same time, every time loses connectivity to a different pc.

Well... I don't know what your background/experience is with networks. Here is the technical definition and an example scenario that causes it.

You can contact dlink and see if this switch supports broadcast storm control. Most managed switches support this.

Also please remember, this may not be the cause at all. Without being able to see logs for the switch or being able to put a packet sniffer on your network to see the flow of traffic, there is no easy way to diagnose the problem. If you know of a reputable IT support company, I'm sure they can put a packet sniffer on your network, but in...
Unfortunately, it is an unmanaged switch, so there are no logs or anything for you to check. My first guess is there may be a broadcast storm on the network at which point the switch will temporarily disable the effected port(s) until the condition is corrected (resetting the pc).

If the switch is under warranty, you may want to replace it, just in case it's dying. Like I said, it's hard to tell what's going on because it's an unmanaged switch. Managed switches cost a little more, but you can log into them, configure settings, and view it's log file.
