Buying new graphics card

Specs: i7 2600k ~ 3.4ghz(OC~3.8), 8gb ddr3 1600mhz, 500 psu, HD 6750 1gbvram (dxdiag approx 774 mb), 1.5 tb HDD, Windows 7.

Looking for a new graphics to run my games. Ive been looking at the EVGA gtx 660 Ti and other variations of this graphics card. My budget for this is 280-320$. From my research on this card it seems to be a good fit and I also plan on getting a second one to get a better performance but at a later time. If some one can direct me to a better card I would be very grateful thanks

More about buying graphics card
  1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202006 three free games with it just as good as 660 ti
  2. I'd go for HD 7950. It's a much better deal at same price.
  3. I would also go for the 7950 as you get three games and it runs them at the same speed as the 660ti.
  4. I'll start looking into it now. Im looking for the best performance in Battlefield 3 and in Shogun 2 total war. Also can i perhaps have dual 7950's? ALSO what about the gtx 680?
  5. Yes. You can :).
  6. Why couldn't you have two 7950's? If your motherboard supports it sure.

I dont know you tell me ;D. I dont have the best grasp on this stuff. So You would also recommend the 7950's? what about the gtx 680. I know thats over the budget but still. I'm looking for something that i can run present games now and games in the future. Im a big bf3 player and total war addict. I also plan on getting Crysis 3, Rome total war 2 and GTA V so i want a card that'll pull me through all that. Asking for a lot i know.

If you prefer nvidia i go for a 670 680 is not worth it's price.
  9. I dunno, if it's just me, but I feel like Nvidia simply makes a superior card. This is debateable of course, but something that isn't debateable is Nvidia's far superior driver support and better control panel. I think the most powerful card on the market right now is actually a AMD,but I just feel like more games are optimized for nvidia cards than for AMD. It's kind of like the age old argument between AMD processor's and Intel. You can get an arguably equally as powerful processor for a cheaper price from AMD, but Intel just seems to be better optimized. I'm in no way suggesting that AMD cards wouldn't give you a good experience, I just have had better luck with Nvidia.

I don prefer anything. I would just like someone to help choose a card. If you were to prefer any card what would you choose?

  12. Hate to keep bothering you but would you recommend any variations of the 7950? like one by msi or asus?
also forgot to add, your first post was done by sapphire, are they optimized better than the other cards like gigabyte or msi?
