SAPPHIRE HD 7770 VAPOR-X

How can i maximize the resolution on my sapphire HD 7770 OC VAPOR-X? I installed the latest drivers. I have a SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER S24B300 24"LED 1080p monitor...BUT i got black bars on all side of the monitor. When i adjust my monitor to 1600 resolution the black bars disappears and fits my screen...Is that gpu`s lack of graphics performance?
BTW, i got another sapphire HD 7770 for crossfire. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Well, you say you have a 1080p monitor, so nothing should show up when you apply 1600p res.
