I have an AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series gfx card.
A couple of days ago my display port cable failed. I was prompted wiuth the necessary errors saying the link had failed, might be a cable problem and also would not display at resolution supported (1080p).
I pulled out the display port and connected via HDMI instead (an HDMI cable i was using for another device).
I had scaling issues to begin with (HDMI) but solved that within the CCC.
I then recall doing something else, it was a box to tick somewhere in CCC that was 'Full RGB' or summin or other, it made the whole monitor look in better 'focus'.
Then my replacement Display Port cable arrived and therefore switched over and put the HDMI back to the device it was intended for.
There was no scaling issues with the new Display Port cable but everything seems out of focus (like as if cleartype is not working, but it is), its the same level of 'unfocusedness' as the HDMI cable was before i ticked/checked this 'Full RGB' box somewhere in the CCC (at least i think thats where i ticked it).
But now (using the display port cable) I can't find that 'Full RGB' box to tick anywhere in win 8 pro or CCC.
Was this just a feature for HDMI connection only? If so then it seems to me that Display Port is not as good a connection option than HDMI?
