I have one data cat5e running to my garage from a centralised hub and router setup,as it is near impossible to run a second cable there now, can i install 2 sockets in my garage to both receive internet from the same cat5e cable? Will there be any problems i need to address or can i simply splice colour for colour together and add the second socket?

Solution
Just install a network switch...
But theoretically you could split the cable pairs on both ends and use 2 pairs on each "cable". The orange and green pairs on one cable and the blue and brown pairs on the other. You would just need to make sure they were wired to the correct TX/RX pins on the RJ45 plugs.
