Hey everyone! So I finally decided to upgrade my Core 2 Duo build from five years ago from a e8400 to a i5-3570k. Everything works great, except when I plug in my videocard the computer will turn on sometimes, and then just shut off (fans are still spinning, mobo lights turn off). Sometimes the thing won't even boot up, it will just spin the fans from the start. My computer will boot up perfectly if this card is not connected, but as soon as it is I will NOT be able to get past the "Windows is loading" screen. I rarely get there as is, maybe 25% of the time I am even lucky to see anything on my screen. I found that I can leave the gpu inside the slot without having the PCI-e connectors and it will work fine, though I am obviously using the onboard GPU if I go that route.
I have no idea what's wrong, but I do know the card is working fine because put it in my other computer and it works just perfectly. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I am typing on the computer as we speak using the onboard GPU. At first I thought it was the PSU as well as I originally had a Corsair 750W.. but as you see I upgraded that just last week too and I still have the same exact issue.
