No it is not a gaming card minimum recommended Gforce card would be GT640.

If you will be doing any gaming on chose the 640 but if you will do a lot of gaming the go with a 660 ti or a 670. If you do not plan to game at all that is fine.

The 610 is not meant for gaming, it is a card simply meant for general usage such as web browsing, and watching movies.

yup the minimum card for gaming is gt 640 or hd 6670. gt 610 is terrible card and cannot play any game with above 20 fps at low settings

Or maybe a 610 would be good if you only play very old games, like Doom 1 or 2. If you don't reach playable FPS in Doom you could also try to downgrade to Wolfenstein 3D.

gt 610 is equivalent to radeon 5450 which i once owned.
i used to get 15 fps in gta 4, 20 fps in max payne 3, 20 fps in nfs hot pursuit, 40 fps in.modern warfare 3, 30 fps in mass effect 2, 22 fps in mafia 2, 18 fps in crysis 2.
so you see that except modern warfare 3 and mass effect 2 every game ran like ***.
but now i have 7750 and i get 3 times as much frame rates in all those games at highest settings and higher resolution as well

I also recommend the 7750 as a good value card.
