Hey Tom's Hardware

So here are the parts I have for my computer right now:

Intel Core i3-3220 (http://goo.gl/EUInW)

Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 Motherboard (http://goo.gl/RiIfW) ---> Want to replace

Sony DVD Burner (http://goo.gl/NAEnE)

XION XON-180P ATX Mid Tower Case (http://goo.gl/qZ5i1)

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB Hard Drive (http://goo.gl/Oa48I)

After asking around the forums I have decided I will get the G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB 2 x 4GB (http://goo.gl/vVi1e) as well as a Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS CX500 (http://goo.gl/rnuwz) which leaves me with an SSD and hopefully a good replacement for my current mobo. Due to my lack of knowledge regarding building a computer (first time) I wanted to ask the community here what a good mobo and ssd would be for this build while keeping it within reason price range (about $200). Right now I am looking at the H77MU3 LGA 1155 mATX Intel Motherboard (http://goo.gl/ChlOL), but still unsure for the ssd.

If anyone has any advice (preferably with links) please help me out!

Thank You

I would try installing just the ssd with the optical drive; if windows doesn't detect it, change your bios setting from "achi" to "ide". Achi is still preferred for your sata setting. But if windows will only detect it in ide mode, then the procedure below will let you change it back to achi after installing windows:

If you have an old seagate or maxtor drive, you can clone the ssd after installing windows. Maxblast 5.0 does an excellent job of cloning, but at least one of the two drives must be seagate or maxtor for it to work.
