Is the 680 abit overkill for this build ?

I plan on getting the 680 along with these parts ( not 100% sure about the motherboard) -

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (plan on overclocking)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Storage: Samsung 830 Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-222BB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer.

Would it be abit overkill ? or would i able to get fully use the graphics card. I really want to play games at high settings while maintain a solid FPS. I plan on playing fps/rpgs. Are there any graphic cards that are cheaper but still perform the same ? and also, i dont plan on overclocking the card just the cpu.

It is a bit overkill for the price, but not the performance -- if you get it you should be able to use it in full alongside the other parts.

On the other hand, if you want to get a similar performance for less money, then get a Radeon HD 7970 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The mobo you´ve picked is good! :)
