whats the best set up i can build using the i7 3770k with a 16gb ram i have about a 500 dollar limit

Does the cost of the Core I7-3770K and 16 GB of RAM come out of the $500 limit or do you already have these components?

Are there any other components you can salvage from a previous/existing system? If so, please provide exact details to those components (manufacturer and model #).

What is the primary purpose of this system, gaming, office work, development, generic internet usage?
