What's the budget here? I wouldn't touch that case with a 10 foot pole - Raidmax is one of the absolute worst brands you could go with. Most of everything else you have is decent - the FX-6300 is a better CPU than the 965 is for not too much more money. Then don't bother with value RAM - get something from G.Skill or Mushkin instead.

The FX-6300 is better than the Phenom yes.

You will find sentiment along the lines that the Bulldozer and Piledriver (the FX series) arhitectures failed compared to Intel, and TBH they kind of have. Bulldozer just didnt perform as well as Sandy at every price point. Piledriver has gained back some ground and the FX-6300 is better than its competitor the Core i3-3220, but it still fails to compete with Intel above the $200 mark.
Currently AMD processors are only recommended for those after multi-threaded performance and are on a budget. The FX-6300 vs Core i3 is the only place where an AMD processor is universally recommended.

Silverstone is a far, far better case manufacturer than Raidmax is. My HTPC is based around the Silverstone GD-05B so I can definitely vouch for it.

The FX series is pretty decent actually. Anything Bulldozer is horrible but Piledriver is actually a step in the right direction for AMD and I've used the FX-8350 so I can say it's a good CPU.
