When my computer starts up, it stays on the screen that says Boot menu, system settings, etc.
It's a Compaq presairo CQ5320F. When we took out a battery on the motherboard and replaced it, it started up fine. But its back to 2002. We update everything, then it goes back to that boot menu.
Anyone know how to fix this?
How do you update the motherboard (or whatever you are updating)? What you have done by removing the battery is resetting the BIOS, which contain basic boot and hardware information (and the internal clock, that is why it said 2002). What you may be doing by updating the motherboard is restoring the error to the computer, hence the same boot error. My recommendation is that you reset the BIOS (by removing the battery as before) and manually updating everything; that should avoid the boot error.
