Hi Folks,
The users manual for this camera is almost useless!
It says the camera has 3 metering modes but doesn't say how to change
them!
Someone needs to explain to Canon how to write a users manual!
Now that I have ranted about the manual...
Does anybody had an idea how to change the metering modes?

You have very litte control yourself on a 300d. It's all explained on
page 84 of the manual.
* If you want partial: use a "Creative" zone and the <*> button
* If you want centre-weighted: use <M> mode
* If you want evaluative: use anything else
This is also shown on the summary table on page 122.

I found this in the manual as well. Does the hacked firmware open up
these options at all?

Does the 3rd party firmware allow choice of metering? It's been awhile
since I've had my 300D but I think it did.

Thanks Ian,
I was going crazy last night. I could only find page 84 of the manual.
It didn't say anything more then it had 3 modes. Maybe I have an
older manual. This should at least help.
