Gainward 550ti

i want to buy a gainward 550ti 1gb gddr5 graphic card ....is it a good card if not then plz give me advices in this price range..

The GTX 550 Ti is alright but it is a last gen card. For the same price you can now get a 7770 which has lower power consumption and is plain better. It also OCs slightly to give another performance boost.

560's have been seen in the wild for ~$125 and are much stronger than a 550ti.

Again, those cards are last generation. Although they're great, you can get better price/performance with this generation's cards like the similarily priced 7770 or 7850. And of course much lower power consumption.

560 > than either of those. The fact that it's "old tech" just brings it's price down a bit.

Power usage is a little higher, but if performance for the money is what matters most, the 560 is probably the way to go, if you can find them at the reduced prices.

Comp USA / tigerdirect has them for $125 with MIR every other week or so, but they have not been on line recently.

(They had three on the shelf at my local compusa yesterday, but they are $135 at the moment I think)

I think my old 5770 is on par with the 550ti.

The 550ti just didn't fill the gap between the 550 and the 560 well.

Your playing resolution will determine much of this. The 560ti is a powerful card but it has its limits.
