How does it fare with games like Battlefield 3, Metro 2033 and The Witcher 2 (ubersampling included)? Can it max them with 30+ fps?

Unless you're hard over on nVidia, the 7970s are a little more than a 670 and come with Assassin's Creed 3, Hitman: Absolution, Sleeping Dogs, and 20% off MOH: Warfighter.

If I was buying today, that would be my pick (not that I don't love my current card!).

Edit: BF3 runs close to 60 with dips to around 50 on ultra 1080.

Ehh, none of those games really appeal to me. But a free Borderlands 2? Heck yes. Anyway, can you point me to a good 680 that's < $500 or a 670 that's just as viable, or are you more experienced with AMD?

witcher 2 uber sampling you wont turn on with any card even a 690 takes a huge hit I went with the 670 and it will get around 30 or so with sampling on but looks no different and plays like crap compared to the 50-60 fps with it off, I was going to get a 680 but the 670 was just too close to pay 100 bucks for couple of frames, 7970 is great card too don't rule that out. I have 670 evga ftw which I love but look at the gigabyte GTX 670 someone said earlier as well

??? Metro 2033 brings quad 680's to their knees. I saw a demo that dipped to the 30's with four 680's. So, no you aren't going to be able to max out metro 2033 with less than about $3,000 worth of computer.

Not necessarily, I said it dipped, that is, the frame rate momentarily dropped to the 30's for a split second, the average frame rate was much faster.
