It has been a while since I have done a build so I am looking for some advice.

Approximate Purchase Date: about 2 months
Budget Range: about $2,000 max
System Usage from Most to Least Important: video editing pic editing, gaming, work, surfing the internet, wat
Are you buying a monitor: No have asus vs238h
Do you need to buy OS: Yes Windows 8 64bit
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com but open
Overclocking: Yes
SLI or Crossfire: Yes at a later time
Your Monitor Resolution: 1080p
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My old machine is dieing and is need something that will last and handle my wifes and my editing needs.

What to stick with the mobo and cpu have friends that worked very well for them. but open to every thing else.

has every thing but power and memory I was thinking around 16g for memory but is dual better in this mobo for quad?

well, im changing the motherboard. a question i would like to ask you is, are you going to use ALL of the ports found on the MVF? if not, get a cheaper board. you are going to do everything the same and overclock the same

this is what i would get

-no loud fisher price watercooler
-low profile ram
-not a overkill motherboard
-not a excessively large case.
-larger SSD
-windows 7. try out windows 8 for a full week before using it
-a video card appropriate for the rig

another question is that do you even watch blu-rays? if not, id get rid of it

I think maybe a bigger ssd.
Psu corsair hx or ax 750w will do fine.
Take either vengeance corsair ram or ripjaws by g skill.
And why are ypu setteling for 660 video card. You could get a lot better in that budget
