Tv as computer monitor

Hello,
i want to hook up my tv to my computer. it has a hdmi input but before i buy a tv i want to make sure it will work. i have a nvidia geforce 310, will that work? i know nothing aboout computers thank you for your help

It should work just fine, but you may need to have a secondary monitor connected temporarily in order to get the graphics card and the HDTV resolutions in sync.
