7950 pcie 2.0x8

Simply put, will the 7950 be bottlenecked in a 2.0x8slot?

Normal 2.0 PCIE slot is x16

So yes.

Not to mention the 7950 is 3.0. While it might not be possible to fully utilize the full potential of 3.0 (or even 2.0 to some extent) placing it into a x8 slot will.

Seems like an odd question though ... are you crossfiring?

In most cases, you do see a performance drop but not by a large margin, regardless of PCIe 2.0 or PCIe 3.0. at worst, you lose 5fps.

K thanks. I just got a new 7950. My motherboard is x16/0 or x8/8. So I was asking just in case I wanted to cf in the future.
