Severe Lag issues in JUST steam games with Nvidia surround 3d

Hey guys, thanks for looking.

So I've got dual gtx 580's running in SLI to power my 3 120hz 3d 1080 acer monitors.
Im using Nvidia surround.

For some reason, whenever i play steam games (or maybe just the two call of duty games I tried this with), I get unbearable lag IN THE MENU.

I can get 60fps in 3d on mass effect 3, this shouldn't be happening. I'm 99% sure it isnt a performance based issue. Non steam games work fine.

Btw, i tested black ops and modern warfare 2 with 3d disabled, so it's not that.

I would really appreciate the help if anyone has any ideas!

Thanks!

If you haven't yet come across the solution - I was having the exact same problem. Borderlands, BF3, etc... all unplayable on surround in steam. The culprit ended up being something with steam's overlay when running in surround. To fix I (and many others) have uninstalled steam, and reinstalled - this time having surround running during the entire install process. Not sure if that's necessary or not, but that's what was suggested and that's what worked.
