PC build, AMD or Intel, maxing games

So i dont have too much money but i was going to get either the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition with this MoBo - ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 (its second hand) for $280 NZD, my gpu will most probably be an Asus GTX 660 DirectCU II 2GB GDDR5, so will it work with this board? if not this set up ill get an i5 ivy unlocked but which board do i get with this that is cheap, a few pci slots and supports overclock, ill get a coolermaster evo 212 to cool it, i wont overclock too much. So what do i get, intel or amd? OH and how big of a psu do i need to run this all?? HELP!! ive took up the steam sale and got 41 games off it, a pack and some seperate games, id like to max gta iv, sniper elite v2, arma 2, can this hardware max it? please help!

and at the same time, some people here complain about how phenom x6 bottleneck their GPU and cant find anyway to upgrade.....

go for i5 3570K and asrock z77 extreme4 or gigabyte z77 udh3
