I updated my OS from WIN 98SE to WIN XP. My scanner a Snapscan e42 (AGFA
three years old) when I ran it gave a predominately red color after the
picture was enclosed. I tried running my Scanwise software in WIN 98
Compatibility mode but I got an unrecoverable error. I have updated My
scanner Driver to the latest version of 2.0.0.9 from Agfa but the problem
remains.
I have contacted Microsoft about my compatibility mode problem. I have
also contacted Vector1-Digital the company that has the responsibility for
supporting discontinued AGFA scanners.
So far I have no response or solution.
Does anyone else have this problem?
If you had this problem did you determine a solution?
I thank anyone who may help me.
Best

Drivers are still at the Agfa website at:
http://www.agfa.com/digicam_scanne [...] pscan_e42/

You should not need compatibility mode. It's not Microsoft's responsibility
to produce drivers for other manufacturer's hardware and sounds to me like
the calibration on the unit isn't working correctly.

Since Agfa got out of the scanner business, it's probably time to change to
a newer scanner.
