Your question

Custom PC build, help please.

January 6, 2013 6:50:42 PM

Hello Everyone:)

I am looking to buy a new custom-built PC and wanted your opinion on my build. Now obviously a major point of this system is for gaming but I also do Photoshop and Video Editing for youtube. My budget is under $2000 and I hope to be playing games like Battle Field 3, Star Craft 2, Assassins Creed 3, and others on MAX Settings (Is it possible with the system I have?) while hoping to decrease video creation time (also in game recording time because I do some of that). One more thing, this is my first buid which is why I am asking for your help!

So here it is

Intel Core i7-3820 Quad-Core Processor 3.6 GHz 10 MB Cache - $280
ASUS Sabertooth X79 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s - $337
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory - $82 (considering upping to 32GB)
Western Digital Caviar Black 2 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Internal Desktop Hard Drive - $180
SanDisk Extreme SSD 120 GB SATA 6.0 Gb-s2.5-Inch Solid State Drive - $114
XFX ATI Radeon HD7950 3 GB DDR5 - $320
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate - $300
Corsair Professional Series HX 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular - $130
ECOMASTER TECHNOLOGY ETS-T40-TB SILENCE CPU COOLER - $40

Total is around $1800 which leaves some room.

ANY comments and suggestions are welcome. Thank You!
