I want to setup a 3D Surround rig. Where do I start?

I need to get at least one video card and three stereoscopic capable displays. My desk can easily support three 27 inch monitors, but I've read that if the displays are too wide it can hurt the experience. Maybe I should go with 24 inch displays?

I don't know how 3D works in windows with either Nvidia or ATI, but I want a full resolution image. I don't want the resolution to be cut in half when I turn on the 3D. I also want to make sure the 3D works on all three monitors

What cards and monitors should I be looking at? Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
