Help with 4 Beep Post

I am using the i3-3220, Asrock z77 extreme 4 and crucial ballistix ram.

Does the machine boot?

With the Extreme4 there is an LED troublehooting display at the bottom of the board that will display a number that wil tell you what is wrong with the system.

have you installed the ram? missing ram was what it meant when I had this problem.

Your lucky I have my Extreme4 manual literally on my desk, or id go tell you to look up the error.

When I push my ram in harder I get error d7 now

Plug in your mouse and keyboard, though that shouldn't prevent boot.

don't force it. remove the ram and push in until you see or hear both sides pop into place.

When ever I connected it to my monitor it put up my specs so I'm guessing that is a good thing?

Are you refering to the motherboard splash screen? It should feature the engine-looking thing thats on the box. If you seeing that you'v gotten to POST.

Do you know how to build a computer? I can link to a few good tutorials if your unsure on how.

How do I mount the Extreme 4 since it has 7 mounting holes but the case has 9

The board is slight smaller than ATX standard, so the far right mounting holes wont line up with the case. Just ignore them, its fine.

solution: if you haven't made the purchase, get a different motherboard
