Random reboots

So i have been having this issue for a while and have no idea what could be causing it. I built myself a new rig in September, and certain games have not worked since. My specs are:
I5 3570K
XFX 4850 1GB
400W corsair PSU
ASRock Extreme4 7ZZ
2X 4GB GSkill Ares DDR3 RAM

What happens is the computer just reboots while playing some games. No warning, no blue screen, it just restarts as if the reset switch is being hit. It happens on games built on cryengine and unreal engine AFAK (happened on bioshock, and crysis 2). It does not happen on other games (like Just Cause 2) that are just as power intensive though so i am kind of confused about that. I just installed a clean win7 Ultimate hoping it would fix my issues but it didnt.

By it crashing during games I would lean towards overheating... My pc can run crysis 2 all day long getting 30fps maxed out, while on skyrim (heavily modified granted) i get 45-60fps and it'll crash after 30min or so due to overheating.

I would run speedfan or hwmonitor to look at the temps, most GPUs tend to crash around 90c or so, run the game for 10minutes or so and look at the temps, if it's anywhere close to 90c that's likely to be the culprit.

not overheating. I can run a stress test for a long time but on these games it crashes in less than a minute. In bioshock, i cant even get into the tower before it reboots on me.

by it only crashing under stress, and only on certain games... the only other thing i can think of is not enough wattage from the PSU... 400watt should be enough to power your rig... assuming you're not running several HDD/other stuffs.

Yea i agree but the max watts i have ever seen it hit was 280w. (i hooked up a thing to measure it) I am running 2 HDD's, but no CD drive or anything else...

mmm I dunno then :( I'm by no means a technician or engineer (yet), hopefully someone with more expertise than I can offer more assistance.
