Hey Guys! I decided up my budget to $130. So right now I want a GPU that can play med-high settings at 1680x1050. Games like Skyrim, SWTOR, Sims 3, and maybe BF3

Right now I have an 8400GS and it sucks. REALLY BAD. So anything is an upgrade really.

Suggestions? Thanks!

Intel G620 Dual Core
4GB DDR3 RAM
650W OCZ STEALTHXSTREAM
8400gs

Ill upgrade my ram+cpu later, but right now, I must get rid of this lousy card! Thanks!

Look at my sig. The only game that i get Bneck is BF3 where i get 50+ fps sometime 35.

So think of buying a bit higher than me (considering that we both must up the CPU, but i got this bird for 20$ ;) )

So u will be ok with any card .If u can get ur budget up to a 7850 it would be great

I don't think so. The processor should be pretty much in harmony with the GPU most of the time. CPU dependent games like Skyrim might show the weaknesses of the CPU but I can't think of many other games as CPU dependent as that.

Question: do you only have $130 to spend (as in that's all you can spend, period), or would $130 after rebates be acceptable, too? Because there's a few Black Friday deals you should take a look at:

- Asus GTX 560 for $140 post-rebate (a good bit faster than the 7770)
- PNY GTX 560 ti for $130 post-rebate (quite a bit faster than the 7770)
- EVGA GTX 560 ti for $140 post-rebate (in case PNY doesn't float your boat)

These cards may outclass your Pentium by quite a bit, but you're planning on upgrading that eventually so there's no reason to not get the best card you can (in my opinion).

It should be worth the money, I really like mine and recommend it alot. Upgrading to 8 gigs isn't a really bad idea, but just know you can totally get by on 4. Most games are 32 bit and will use some where from 1-2.5 gigs of RAM. Unless you run lots of things in the background your performance will stay the same. Look at me, I'm running a 32 bit OS with 3.3 gigs and it performs the same as my friend with 8.

This is my GPU too, it's a cheaper one, but it's very cool and very quite. I love MSI cards too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127687

...It's sold out now, Tiger Direct might still have them, I like ordering from Tiger Direct.

Hey, I totally understand. I just thought it'd be a disservice to not bring them to your attention. As far as 7770s go, I'd personally go for the Sapphire Vapor-X Edition - not only is it more affordable than most other 7770s right now (for some reason), but it's got the best cooling solution hands down (and supposedly overclocks like a beast!).

And plus it's one of the sexiest cards on the market (I think so, at least).

Added to my cart! And one last question, I promise. My parents said that they will pitch in $30 and now I am stuck between 2 decisions.

8GB $28 Ram or 320GB HDD $32

My hard drive right now is only 80GB, 50GB usuable and I need an upgrade. Which should I choose? (If I had a decision, I would probably use the extra 30 to get a better GPU, but I only have 10G left on my HDD, so I need an upgrade quick!)

Aha, I'd definitely opt for the hard drive. It's easy to make do with 4GB of RAM, but making do with 80GB of disk space takes lots of effort (I know - my old laptop had a 60GB hard drive and it was my only computing device for several years).

Well you just answered that question yourself, since the upgrade to the HDD is more urgent I would get it. Only 10 GB of free space isn't a lot and it could impact performance.

RAM is less important since you already have 4 GB which is good enough for most needs, even gaming. And you can always add more RAM later on if you get more money along the way. Just make sure your OS is 64-bit if you want to use more than 4 GB of RAM.

The 7770 also gets my vote for the video card, if you have a little more money, the 7850 would be even better of course.

I was thinking the same. But not to get into arguments, I refused to go with a Radeon.
But for your case, jeez, get some harddrives. I already have 4-6 harddrives ranging 250gb to 2tb in my machine.
Hell, I have 3 xbox360s drives and 2x are 320, other is 250.
