Your question

VGA - DVI Adapter?

November 23, 2012 7:15:41 PM

Hello.

I recently bought a new computer. My old computer had a VGA input. My monitor has a cable that is VGA (My monitor is : LG 192WS Flatron)

The thing is, my new computer has a newer graphic card, Nvidia GeForce GTX 670.

GTX 670 has a DVI-I input, and on the case there is a VGA input but that is for an internal graphics card that has been removed.

I now need an adapter, from VGA to DVI signal? Or whatever you call it.

I saw on some shops around the internet that there are (Male) and (Female) adapters & VGA's? Apparently that matters, and I am pretty confused now...

The GeForce GTX 670 has 2 ports: DVI - I and DVI - D

So I would have DVI - I Dual Link (with 8x3 pins) and DVI - D dual link.

Anyway to SUM IT UP:

Will a PC with:
GeForce GTX 670 Graphics card
CoolerMaster Silencio 550 ATX Case
And a LG 192WS Flatron Monitor (15 pins VGA)
... work with a DVI - VGA adapter? Example: http://www.clasohlson.com/se/Pr381412000/Pr381412000
(The example above is single link though isn't it so that won't work?)

Appreciate quick responses as I might go buy an adapter tomorrow ^^

Regards
