cdrw not showing up my computer

i just upgraded my computer with a new motherboard and a processor. i reformatted and installed win98se, now my yamaha cdrw 2100ez wouldnt show up in my computer, and nero wouldnt see it either, but it does show up in device manager under cdroms, also it is recognized by the bios.
i have played with master/slave settings to no avail
any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are both IDE channels enabled in the Device Manager?

Is DMA enabled for the device?

Have you installed the chipset drivers for your mainboard?

Have you updated the <A HREF="http://solutionsnetwork.yamaha.com/knowledge/QuestionView.asp?ID=020343047835480&QSOperationID=170379383033026&ResponseID=080343229669320&" target="_new">firmware</A> for the drive?

Are you running the latest version of <A HREF="http://www.nero.com/en/download.htm" target="_new">Nero</A>?
