Upgrading Video Card

Hello,

I am wanting to upgrade my Graphics Card for my computer to run GTA 4. I am not tech savvy at all so a basic response would be best.

Here are my system spec's

HP Pavillion p6000 Series
AMD PhentomII 840T Quad Core processor
6GB in RAM

My video card however is only a ATI Radeon HD 4200.
Power Supply is 250 Watts as well.

GTA runs very poorly on this card and I need to know what would be a good option at upgrading.

  4. Greetings!

Here's a videocard just for running GTA off from a single monitor, its power efficient and performs far more better better than recommended minimum card which is 3870.
It's the best that you can get for that price bracket.

Here's a videocard that destroy's all games (whilst playing with a single monitor):

For power supply get something manlier than that 250watt PSU.
250watt PSU is good for energy savings, for example you run a host server for 24/7 but if you want gaming than you're better off with a power supply with a single rail on PSU and at least 80Plus efficiency.

    For example:

You can go cheaper, but at your own risk. You could get a lower wattage rating PSU if you're getting the 7770 but 500 watts is bare minimum for 7870.

    Good luck!

Awesome man thanks to both of you for your answers. Will the cards you guys gave me be compatible with my computer though (once I buy the PSU)
  7. Yeah its gona be!This graphics card can run fully enough for your games in high settings at 1600x1200 with out lags!
  8. And you can save more money you gona save about more than 50$ so save for better CPU like phenom 2 six core or buy tons of ice cream xD
