I'm looking to get a Circumpolarizing Filter for my 77mm lenses. Now that
I have two of them at this size (telephoto and wide angle) I'm willing to
cough up the $$$ for a decent CPL at this size, which I imagine will run me
about $100-$150. I know there are cheaper, but I've had bad experience
with marginal no-name brand CPLs at smaller sizes, so I'm not going to just
buy a $40 CPL and ruin my pictures. I'm also sure there are better ones
available in the $300+ range, but I can't really justify that.

Any personal suggestions as to brands?

B+W or Heliopan. Both are German. Both use top quality glass and
coatings. Heliopan filters tend to be slightly cheaper but are
optically just as good.

Both B+W and Heliopan offer a "Kaesemann" circular polarizer with the
edges of the sandwich (glass/polarizing screen/glass) sealed with
epoxy resin. It keeps out moisture and dust. If you take care of a
Kaesemann filter it will last you almost for ever, but it costs more.
