Ok next time I will read the stickies first:

Can anyone give me information about these 2 cards and which one will get better performance? Any help would be...well...helpful.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Hopefully this week

BUDGET RANGE: not worried about money at this point

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming Been playing Assassin's Creed III and has started to get a bit laggy

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: ATI Radeon HD 4870 not sure on power supply but think it is 750w ish

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: using a PCLe 2.0/1 x16 card slot

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: These are the 2 cards I'm looking at

OVERCLOCKING: no
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1600x900

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: not sure which will work better 2 lower end cards or the one higher card (higher and lower being relative)

Thanks for your help

Wait. Did you want to Crossfire the 6870?

If not, 6970 is definitely faster than single 6870.
