I'm new to building PC's and I'm looking to see if my computer is compatible;
Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3-iSSD,
Intel Core i5 3570K Quad Core IvyBridge,
MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Graphics Card - 2GB,
Corsair Memory Desktop 8GB 2 x 4GB,
Seagate 750GB MomentusXT Hybrid SATA III, Arctic Cooling Freezer 13,
Corsair CP-9020048-UK Builder Series CX,
Silverstone Temjin SST-TJ10S-W

More about : compatibility

Yes these parts will work, but what's up with a Z68 chipset motherboard and an Ivy Bridge combination?

Trust me on this. What you want is a Z77 board to go with that processor.
Otherwise the parts all look good.

Newf.

Hi. Don't go with a Z68 motherboard as Newf mentioned above. Go with a Z77 like this one:

ASRock Z77 Extreme4
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asrock-z77-extreme-4-int...

This PSU is sufficient for less money. It's not yet available from Scan but you can get one from Novatech:

XFX ProSeries Core Edition 550W
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/550w-xfx-pro-series-core...
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/powersupp...

I suggest going with this CPU cooler instead:

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Do you know much about optical drives as I cannot find out how to work out the sizes for them?

What do mean by sizes? If you're looking for an internal DVD burner, here are a couple of them:

Liteon IHAS124-04 OEM Black SATA
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/liteon-ihas124-04-24x-dv...

Samsung SH-224BB/BEBE DVD RAM Ready OEM
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/samsung-sh-224bb-bebe-dv...

And a few more to choose from: http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/blu-ra...

I mean when looking at the cases in the specification it has the size for drive bays and I wasn't sure if they have specific sizes
