Corsair CP-9020048-UK Builder Series CX,

Yes these parts will work, but what's up with a Z68 chipset motherboard and an Ivy Bridge combination?

Trust me on this. What you want is a Z77 board to go with that processor.
Otherwise the parts all look good.

Hi. Don't go with a Z68 motherboard as Newf mentioned above. Go with a Z77 like this one:

ASRock Z77 Extreme4
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asrock-z77-extreme-4-intel-z77-s-1155-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-sata-raid-pcie-30-%28x16%29-d-sub-dvi-d-hdmi-a

This PSU is sufficient for less money. It's not yet available from Scan but you can get one from Novatech:

XFX ProSeries Core Edition 550W
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/550w-xfx-pro-series-core-edition-p1-550s-ukb9-85-eff-80-plus-bronze-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-fan-atx-v2
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/powersupplies/p1-550s-xxb9.html

I suggest going with this CPU cooler instead:

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Do you know much about optical drives as I cannot find out how to work out the sizes for them?

I mean when looking at the cases in the specification it has the size for drive bays and I wasn't sure if they have specific sizes
