7970 GHz, beats the GTX 670 and the 680 in most benchmarks

edit: just saw you said vanilla 7970. It still beats the 670 and matches the 680, depending on the game. It is much cheaper though.

i got feedback on the sapphire - poor warranty and sound coming from the fans.

do you think that is one of the best gpus out for that price range?

I like Saphire and the ratings on US Newegg sound good. It is not going to overclock too much but it runs cooler than most other 7970s. I think it's a good card for the price.
