I'm completely clueless about choosing a graphics card. I'm looking for one that sells for under $220, but I don't know how to choose one. I know that the memory of the cardis important, as is the physical size, but there seems to be an almost bottomless supply of possible choices and alternatives to choose from. Any help would be appreciated, whether it's a URL leading to a guide, person-to person explanation, or just a suggested graphics card.

Well for one there is this:

If you want advice specifically for you, we need to know what case you have for size, the power supply, the CPU to check for bottlenecks, and the resolution you game at.
In general, I recommend either the GTX 660 or HD 7870 for that price.

Thanks to all of you guys for the responses. I talked to a friend who helped me tentatively choose one. I apologize for the lack of background information/specs.
