I reinstalled windows after formating the C: Drive. Then all these problems with the secondary drive started to occur. Ok. Check this out. I tried fiddling with some settings under the device manager and when I rebooted I could see the D: drive but there was also an E: drive which displayed the same information. Then I rebooted the machine and it now it just displays the D: drive. So I thought everything was working but now when I click on the D: drive the following message appears. "D:\ is not accessible. A device attached to the system is not functioning" Run into that problem before???
You usually get that message when a drive isn't formatted. If all your connections are secure, it probably has something to do with the integrity of the drive. I would format the drive to see if that takes care of the problem.
I can't format the drive until I remove the information from it. That's the big problem. How to access a drive that shows up once in a while.
On boot up I noticed in the display screen that my primary C:\ drive had a UDMA 2 and the secondary D:\ had a UDMA of 4 and the CD-ROM Drive also had a UDMA of 4 does this mean anything??
