S-Video Cable Question

Does the S-Video cable carry sound as well as video?
If I use the S-Video cable connection between the LD player and the TV, do I
have to connect an audio cable as well?

video only, thats why its called s-video. If it carried audio as well it
probably would have been called something like s-video-audio instead...
