Should I upgrade?

Update:

Purpose: I edit 1080p footage and live stream League of Legends on this PC.

I decided I will be going with the 3930K.

16GB of Ram is what I want.

The two motherboards that seem to fit my needs are

RAMPAGE IV FORMULA vs. SABERTOOTH X79

The only reason I would get the Formula is for better sound quality at least as far as I can see.

I have gone through a bunch of reviews and many say the Rampage Formula runs hotter and is harder to get higher over clocks but I am not interested in over clocking that much other than the stock over clocking.

It pretty much comes down to which board runs SLI better with only 2 cards?

Would it be worth it to just get the Formula for the Sound Card?( I could obviously always buy another internal sound card for $80)

My Computer build:

CPU: 3930K i7
MoBo: Sabertooth X79 vs Rampage IV Formula
PSU: Corsair 750W TX series
Ram: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
GFX: 2 SLI'd MSI Cyclone 460GTX's
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM 500GB SATA 3.0Gb/s
HD:Seagate Barracuda XT 2TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s
SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-256G 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC
CPU Cooler: Zalman 92mm 2 Ball
Case: COOLER MASTER Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower
Display: 2 Monitors at resolution 1920x1080
OS: Windows 7 Home Prem 64Bit

So very simple Sabertooth X79 or Rampage IV Formula?

didn't mention your resolution..

I run a q9550 and as soon as I loaded FarCry3 that's when the processor showed it's age. your weak link is the 460. sli-ing will do nothing to help. you should invest in a 6950 2gig or a 660 or above for better performance. there's more to performance than raw FPS numbers listed in benchmarks.

you don't have to go the LGA2011 route. the 1155 would save a lot of money to invest elsewhere......... graphics..?/whatever, that would be your decision.

I should have probably mentioned the game I play is League of Legends mainly and it isn't all that graphic intensive my focus is on encoding the data for streaming as the 460GTX can handle it quite well right now but the processor lacks. As I have heard that Nvidia is supposed to be releasing something soonish.

I looked into the 1155 processors all I see is quad core 3770K and that is roughly 20% slower(according to passmark scores) compared to the 3990K which is quite impressive considering 6 core vs 4 Core but I do lose 2 actual 2 virtual cores but save $200 plus prob $100 on the mobo. But considering the 3770K is 2x faster than my current and the 3930K is 3x Im sure going to the 3770K would be a huge difference even if my CPU is at 100% load in Xsplit.

(Update with resolution as well)
