More about need cards
  1. the 640 should be better. But don't expect to play games at Full HD without noticeable lag with either cards.
  2. GT 640 is better.

what is the price you're paying for the alienware pc? you can customize a better PC by buying parts that will be really good than that overpriced allinware AX51.
  3. @acerace I rarely play games on max settings let alone HD I only plan on playing Star Wars: The Old Republic & Diablo 3.

@coolermaster_72 I'm on a budget so the PC is listed was $599.99 with the defaulted items, was only looking into it since most PC's now have win8 on the market.

I am just going to fix my PC that I got in 2007, it just needed a new HD & OS this is everything else it has.

    Cyberpower PC
    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)
    6GB DDR2-PC1600 RAM
    ZOTAC® GeForce® GT 440 512MB DDR5
    Samasung LCD 2030
    Realtek HD Audio output
HP Multimedia Speakers With Subwoofer Computer Speaker
    Enhanced Mulmedia PS/2 Keyboard
    PS/2 Compatible Mouse
    Asus Sabertooth USB3 & SATA3 X58 MB
  4. go for the gt 640...it is at least much better than gt 440...although don't expect very high performance
