Amd radeon hd 7950 compatibility with GA-700T-usb3

Hello all. I'm currently trying to upgrade my graphics cards since it's cyber monday and there's deals going on.

I want to upgrade my ATI Radeon HD 5700 to an AMD Radeon HD 7950. My current mother board is a GA-700T-USB3 and my PSU is a 700 watt. Can't find anywhere online where I can see if the 7950 is compability. In the event they are not compatible, can you recommend any card upgrades that are? I am not really looking to swap out my motherboard.

  1. If you have a 16x pci-e port then its compatible.
  2. Thanks alot. How were you able to tell it's compatible? And would it be fine to use the 700W PSU? I don't wanna blow it up.

Says 750W , but maybe if you have a solid brand psu you could get away with it, not sure though :D, probably should wait for a more experienced user too confirm
  4. Ignore that, you will be fine with your psu, Recommended is 500W
  5. 700w should be more than enough, especially if its from a quality manufacture. I never said if it was, i cant find any information on a "GA-700T-USB3". I said if you have a 16x pci-e slot then its compatible. I know this because its basic knowledge to a tech, you can find it on the manufactures system requirement page.
